Scooter is my life partner, co-pilot, therapist, work out buddy, and most of all friend. He comes with me wherever I go and I would not have it any other way. I grew up with standard poodles but once I heard about the goldendoodle (half standard poodle half golden retriever) I knew this was the dog for me.

I had been researching different breeders for well over a year, as I knew the first thing I wanted to do once I graduated from Marquette was to get a dog of my own. I found a breeder in Northern Wisconsin that I really liked and in October of 2008 I put a deposited down for the May 2009 litter. I was the first person to put a deposited down so I had pick of the litter. The breeder kept me up-to-date on how the mother was doing and sent me pictures right away when the litter came. Through the pictures I knew which dog would be mine immediately but still traveled the 7 hours with my father to check the puppies out before he was ready to come home.

I first met Scooter when he was four weeks old. He was so soft and adorable. I feel in love with him instantly. He was about 30% larger than all the other puppies and his color was far darker. He was perfect. I couldn’t wait until I graduated from Marquette on May 17, 2009 so I could leave and go get my dog. Right after I graduated my father and I hopped in the car and went to Webster, Wisconsin to pick up Scooter. He was wonderful the whole trip home and slept on my lap the entire ride.

He was a very easy puppy to train. He is so smart that he catches on to things very fast. He also is great around the horses. I brought him to the barn with me only two days after I brought him home.  He still comes with me every time I ride and always keeps a watchful eye over me and my horses.

He loves to play either with people or other dogs. Spice, a 7 year old female boxer is by far his best friend. He also enjoys spending time with my parents standard poodle, Henry and my brothers standard poodle, Ben.

Scooter is a wonderful dog and I am so lucky to have him.
